William Drew, Mum – Lucy and Dad – Ben, decided to help raise funds for our WRAP Appeal after having to spend some time on Woodcock Ward.
William suffered a serious burn in June 2019 and needed to spend a week on Woodcock Ward where the family soon learned that parents suffering the trauma and distress of a sick child really looked for a private space close to their child to unwind and relax which is difficult to find on a very busy ward.
When they saw that Children’s Happy Hospital Fund were looking to raise funds to provide both a parents kitchen/sitting room along with a quiet room the whole family wanted to give something back for all the wonderful care and support they received from the hospital staff involved in Williams recovery. With this in mind they set up a Virginmoneygiving page with the hope of raising some funds to help provide this new facility for future parents of Woodcock patients.
With the help of Family, Friends, Hair Santuary-Totnes, Sure-Est Ltd Quality Surveyers and Psychiatry UK LLP they have raised a fantastic sum of £2363.50 including Gift Aid.
After seeing our plans and rooms we are looking to use the whole family have decided to continue to fundraising for this appeal.
Thank you for everyone who helped.
